Alice Rushing, MASc., C.Psych

Psychologist

FOUNDER

Alice Rushing, MASc., Psychologist is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, as a Psychologist and is a member of the Ontario Association of Psychological Associates. She specializes in Psycho-Educational and ADHD Assessment with children and adults, and she also provides ADHD Coaching, Learning Strategy Development and Personal Counselling, focused on goal setting and stress management. Ms. Rushing completed both her undergraduate and Masters degrees at the University of Waterloo. She has a passion and a longstanding history supporting students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD. She held the position of President of the Board of Directors of the Learning Disabilities Association of Kitchener-Waterloo for several years. Ms. Rushing worked for over a decade as the Learning Specialist in AccessAbility at the University of Waterloo and continues to consult at the University of Guelph regarding learning supports for students with disabilities. She also has experience through the Waterloo Catholic District School Board as a Psychoeducational Consultant. Ms. Rushing has a strong awareness of accessibility issues for individuals with disabilities, promoting barrier-free education and employment.

Christine Pond, M.E.d.

ASSOCIATE

Christine Pond received a Masters degree in Developmental Psychology & Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Waterloo.  She conducts psycho-educational assessments under the supervision of Alice Rushing.  Christine has over fifteen years of experience conducting assessments with children and young adults for various developmental concerns including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and attention deficit disorders. She enjoys working with families and has a great rapport with young children

 

Sanaz Mehranvar

Sanaz Mehranvar, M.A.

ASSOCIATE

Sanaz Mehranvar received her Ph.D. training in Clinical-Developmental Psychology from York University. She holds a Master of Arts degree from York University and has undertaken clinical training in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, community mental health clinics, and private practices.  Sanaz has been working at a private practice in Toronto for the last few years after having completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Department of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba (Faculty of Medicine). She has also worked at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Bloorview Kids Rehab. 

Sanaz has extensive training and experience conducting diagnostic, psychoeducational, and social-emotional assessments of young children, adolescents, and adults with various developmental concerns including learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders. She enjoys working with individuals and families from diverse cultural, racial, religious, class, gender, sexual, and other identities, as they embark on their journey toward healing. She is willing to work collaboratively with her clients to improve their lives.

 

Jenn Galbraith, B.Ed.

Educational Therapist

Jenn is a dedicated professional with 9+ years combined experience in social services and education; from Child and Youth Worker to Teacher. A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and Nipissing University, she has focused her education and career on helping others within a wide range of ages and abilities by focusing on Special Education.  She specializes in providing/creating supports in education and home for students with mental health issues, developmental delays and learning disabilities. Jenn maintains updated certifications with the Ontario College of Teachers, ASIST, CPR and LGBTTQIA Diversity and Inclusion Training.

Courtney Boehmer

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Courtney is an Ontario scholar who graduated on the Dean’s Honours list from Mohawk College’s Office Administration Heath Services Program. Courtney joins our team with proven medical office administration experience. In her spare time, you can find her at the arena where she enjoys coaching as well as playing ringette. Courtney also enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Casey Upfold

Intern

Casey Upfold is currently working as an intern with our Practice. She has been invaluable and is currently focused on communications, blogging and social media.  She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Studies from the University of Guelph. She is interested in clinical assessment tools, intake assessments, and learning more about the counselling process in general. Casey is currently working as a Research Assistant in the Forensic Psychiatry Program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, conducting research on patients who are declared Not-Criminally-Responsible or Unfit-to-Stand Trial within Ontario. In addition to this, Casey is still a volunteer researcher at the University of Guelph, helping with ongoing projects, such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and a separate project about self-compassion. Her goal is to gain as much experience as possible before she applies for a Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.

 

Gillian Bandey, M.E.d.

Associate

Gillian received her Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. She has previous experience as a research assistant in several psychology labs. She also spent several years as a behaviour therapist providing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services to children and adolescents on the autism spectrum. Gillian is an advocate for family-school-community collaboration, evidence-based early academic & behavioural interventions, and fostering resilient, growth-based mindsets in students. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, drawing, reading, and running.

 

Makayla Roth

Psychometrist

Makayla is a graduate of McMaster University where she studied Social Psychology (2020). Currently, Makayla is continuing her pursuit of knowledge at Adler University, where she is furthering her education at the graduate level and gaining a deeper insight into the field of Clinical and Counselling Psychology. Makayla is registered with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Makayla works under Alice's supervision in a Psychometric role.
